Innovation and skills
ChangeActShare product development project
New technology is increasingly being developed within the jewellery sector through the forging of links between designers and manufacturers. Many businesses are now investing in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and rapid prototyping equipment and software, or partnering with a bureau.
Camden Council recognises that effective and profitable integration of design into manufacture results in product innovation and greater competitiveness.
ChangeActShare has been awarded funding by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) to develop and run a programme based in Hatton Garden in partnership with the Holts Academy of Jewellery and CENTA, Camden's Enterprise Agency. Transfers of skills, knowledge and expertise will create business growth and market opportunities.
The new product development project began in January 2010. ChangeActShare will be engaging business owners from the jewellery sector to share their expertise and support the development and delivery of the programme.
